I believe literature can be enjoyed from the page, and on the stage, and so I frequently appear
at poetry readings throughout the area and have hosted numerous open mics and have produced several literary events -- including
events combining my passion for literature and Middle Eastern dance.
I served for 14 years on the planning committee and board of directors of the annual Lowell
Celebrates Kerouac! festival honoring Lowell, Mass. author and native son Jack Kerouac.
In my career as an Oriental dancer, Morgana, I am also associate editor of Middle Eastern Dance in
New England and staff writer for Jareeda magazine of Middle Eastern dance.

Read to the Beat
I participated in a reading of Jack Kerouac's novel, 'The Dharma
Bums,' at the 2008 Lowell Celebrates Kerouac! festival. The reading took place at Caffe Paradiso in Lowell, Mass. Here I am
with my friend, Nancy Herbstman, who was the emcee for the reading.
